Finnegan has been making big changes to Blasphemi this year, all in preparation for going out and running big numbers at Drag Week 2024. We’re talking horsepower, suspension, clutch, transmission, you name it! This thing is an evil bastard now, but that means he’s breaking some stuff in preparation for a week of torture. Let’s see how the testing goes before the racing starts.
Video Description:
Episode 313 of Mike Finnegan’s Garage involves my very last chance to test Blasphemi before Hot Rod Drag Week 2024 and for awhile it didn’t look good. The Hemi was misfiring bad and it turned out to be a broken part in the valvetrain. Luckily, we had spare parts to fix it and were able to finish up the test session with some new personal best times.
We leave for Drag Week today and I’m so excited to see what this car will do in the 1/4 mile! Wish me luck!

Thanks for watching! -Finnegan
I was at Indy on the 2nd day of Drag Week. Finnigan had an 8000rpm, launch that sent him straight up and then knocked the front end out of whack. From that point forward, all I heard was “Is Finnigan broke? Is he going to run again?” it seems like the PR machine was running on blast mode.
What I saw was 2 guys jaw jacking with fans all day (admirable, but confusing), no scramble in the pits until the last minute and fabricated drama to get down the track to try to get a good number for the day…which he kind of botched.
On the other side, I saw guys like Goldstone and other competitors working their tails off all day to fix major things and try to get their runs in as quick as possible and move to the next track.
It feels like some folks use the week for pure PR and others are real competitors.
Finnigan’s yearly “thrash” and money dump story is starting to get really old. But, hey, to some folks they love “Reality” shows…
