When it comes to innovative parts that not only solve a problem but also improve a racer’s chances of winning, some out of the box thinking is required. Thankfully this is an industry populated with out of the box thinkers that identify needs and improvements that many others may never recognize. Meziere Enterprises has been doing that for their entire existence and the company continues today. One of the neatest things that they have rolled out in recent years are their heat exchanger transmission pans for Powerglide and Turbo 400 models. These pans allow water to be circulated through them which drops the transmission fluid temperature significantly.
Why does anyone need this, you ask? If you are a bracket racer who is going laps and basically being hot lapped on the strip, you can watch the transmission try to melt itself into a puddle. This shortens the life of the parts, makes the car less consistent, and hurts your chances and wallet all around.
This pan is also being used by drag-n-drive racers as well in heavy, fast, street driven cars. Don’t just take our work for it. Our pals over at RacePages did a great work up on them. See it here –
