More Fun On 4/16: Yes The Mopar Small Block Contingent Has Their Own Version!

More bore, more stroke, more power, more fun! That’s the logic that hot rodders have used since the dawn of the hobby and while the 416ci LS engine is the dominant modern displacement of this size, the small block Chrysler guys have been boring and stroking their 340s into 416ci mills for years. Normally the engines are opened up to a 4.07″ bore and use a stroke of 4″. There are many companies out there that make the cranks to complete this enlargement operation and the results are always healthy.

As good an engine as the little 340 is, making one into a 416 and supplying it with enough head, camshaft, and induction really unleashes the beast. Hell, check out the results of these mild versions below and they not only sound awesome but they make killer power as well. At the drag strip we’re reasonably sure that nothing sounds better than a huge cammed, massive compression little Chrysler mill. They have this sound at idle that is beyond full house and they really sing going down the track.

So Mopar fans, this is your day as well. Hell, you guys basically founded this displacement day and the LS guys decided to ape onto the party!
