TCI’s 4x Four-Speed is a 4L80E based performance automatic that has been a staple of many GM performance builds over the last few years. The good news that that TCI recognized that keeping all of that goodness just for the Chevy guys was kind of mean so they have developed 4x Four Speed applications for Ford big and small blocks, Chrysler big and small blocks along with Gen III hemi engines, Buick, Pontiac, and Olds as well. This is good news because the fact of the matter is that as automatic transmissions evolve in the OEM, their performance brethren evolve as well. Why would you to want to put a newer, stronger, and more refined transmission into your car, no matter the brand when you are building or upgrading it?
The company also has adapter flex plates for applications where they are needed and a GM torque converter pattern is used, insuring users that they’ll have a wide array of converter choices to make when sourcing the correct one for their application.
