Hollaring Hemi: Watch And Listen To This 392ci Gen III Hemi Roar On The Dyno – NHRA Stock Eliminator Power!

The world of drag racing is a constantly evolving place because the sport, especially in the sportsman ranks moves with the technology of the day. For instance, in NHRA stock eliminator, competitors can run anything from a 265ci small block powered 1955 Chevy to a 2019 Challenger with a roaring 392ci naturally aspirated hemi as you see here. Real factory engines in real factory cars, going real fast on small tires, that’s what people love!

There are no power numbers to share from this dyno pull but let’s start thinking about some stuff here. With the fact that the 392 in the Scat Pack cars makes 490+ horsepower while laden down with all the accessories and stuff it’s pretty impressive. Now take the thing down to its bare bones, bring every tolerance into the allowable spec, get very creative with your camshaft duration (lift has to be factory) and lobe profiles, and then run that sucker. The addition of the high rise single plane intake helps this bad boy along as well. This engine is going into a DragPak car and this combo, while never sold for use on the street, it was sold in enough volume that NHRA signed off on it.

We listened to this one a couple of times because it is awesome! Gaineville is in three weeks and we cannot wait to see some stockers there!
