NEW PROJECT ALERT! 1967 MGB GT Walk-Thru And Attempt To Start and Drive. Or Will It Be All British And Just Fail?

NEW PROJECT ALERT! 1967 MGB GT Walk-Thru And Attempt To Start and Drive. Or Will It Be All British And Just Fail?

If Jefferson ever buys a car that makes sense to me, I’m going to question whether or not I’ve lost my mind or he’s finally come back from the dark side. He has a penchant for finding the least practical projects, which I myself have been guilty of on occasion, but he doesn’t just pick things that will be a ton of work but also things that will make most people scratch their heads as to why. So you can imagine that when he decided to choose a little British car and wanted to actually make it work in stock form, there was some head scratching. After all, these little cars are known for having issues in the first place despite having some parts that are super durable.

But he’s a glutton for punishment, and we can’t argue with having some fun hauling ass around the family dirt track in it. So watch, enjoy, and soon we’ll share the next step in the build.

Video Description:

We bought a 1967 MGB GT off Facebook for $2k. The seller guaranteed it ran, but we couldn’t get it started on the day we went to check it out. We took a gamble on whether or not the drivetrain was good, and brought it home.

After sitting for a few weeks, we rolled it into the shop. Jefferson gives a thorough walk-thru on this MGB and we attempt to start it up. If it runs and drives, we are gonna take it for a spin on the Red Dirt Drift Track.

We go over the battery, positive-earth, ignition, fuel system, and brakes. Eventually, it sputters to life and runs! Why not take an untested car on the drift track at the Red Dirt Rodz Drift Track? LET’S GO!!!!!

We are going to rebuild the whole car using parts from @MossMotorsCom and @Tmiproducts-Upholstery, so stayed tuned!

Awesome! (ROFL) As someone who’s all in on a MGB (custom chassis/suspension, complete rewire, sbc (400hp), T10 4speed, 4-link/8.8 rear, coilovers/discs all around, I found it pretty easy to get carried away. Ideas: complete rewire (Speedway 12 circuit kit), rear suspension Classic Conversions Triangulated 4-link/coilovers, I just put early 2000s Miata seats/Mr’Mikes leather in mine, very comfortable, front clip is a modified CAChassisworks 24″, most of rest on mine is 0ne off. Good luck with it
