Chad’s been peppering us for the last few days with videos of gnarly four wheel drive and two wheel drive trucks attacking ski slopes at various resorts across the country in organized competition. Those have been cool and fun, but I thought it was time to just drop the mic on Chad and walk off stage with my head held high knowing that I owned him on this topic. See, my video is shot in all high definition goodness and it features a one off car called the Rebellion R2K. What is a rebellion R2K? Basically a street legal prototype racer like you would see at flipping LeMans. Power comes from a Lamborghini engine that would have originally made the umph for a Gallardo.
Outside of Jon Olsson’s wallet the other driving force on the car was former Koenigsegg lead engineer Leif Tufvesson. Leif provided the brains of the operation and Jon provided the celebrity cache and a name to go with the whole thing. We’re not sure if this was a true one off or if there are plans to actually try and produce these for sale to consumers. We’re sure they would be heinously expensive. The entire car weights 2200lbs.
Hey, since when did skiers get the dough to commission one off carbon fiber race cars? Did we miss a day? I want my kid to play tight end, should I swap him to the slalom? Those questions are more based out the jealousy than anything else, but really this is a fun video. The car sounds balls with the big Gallardo engine literally screaming as high as it would go and amaze yourself at the fact it isn’t leaking a drop of anything when they are done. THIS is a study in wheel speed right there!

Yeah .. this guy .. Jon Olsen is pretty damn crazy when it comes to his winter automotive exploits . Up until recently his main source of transportation was a highly modified Audi R8 with a custom Ski Box on top, Before that a hopped up AudiGhini [ Lamborghini ] Gallarado with again a custom made and fitted Ski Box . Sadly the man has now gone pedestrian with his daily driver . Having switched over to a slightly modified [ the man needs to go to ABT badly ] Audi RS6 Avant . And yes .. Mr Olsen is sponsored by VW-Audi … which explains his choice of brands .
Personally though … If I were him .. his being Swedish and with all his money … I’d go Koenigsegg … and to heck with AWD [ there is one mad Koenigsegg owner with custom ski box that uses his year round ]
