WHOA. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Ok, I’m sure there are still plenty of you that are upset about the Duster-meets-Corvette creature I featured in this year’s LS Fest coverage. (If you want a reason to get angry at me, or to simply see this again, you can CLICK HERE to see the writeup on the car.) The entire reason I loved the Duster, besides the fact that the hate messages were going to flow like Niagara Falls, was that it made good use out of a Corvette skeleton frame. Look at Roadkill’s Vette Kart: chopped down to it’s barest and most necessary bits, even a lowly, flooded C4 Corvette could become something badass. So what if you start with a much more potent C6 platform? You get the rear-mounted transaxle and all the benefits of suspension technology advancements, so long as you adjust for the weight you either add or remove.
We suspect that adding a 1990s B-body station wagon shell probably added a healthy amount of weight, but we also suspect that, given the extensive nature of this kind of build in the first place, that the weight has been factored in and the suspension tweaked to adapt. Here’s all we know about the car right now: “Will be a time attack car. A customer of ours in the U.K is building this. A C6 platform, with a Buick Roadmaster body.”
Getting ahold of a running Corvette skeleton frame isn’t too difficult, and we’ve been hearing more and more about different bodies being dropped onto them. This Roadmaster is by far the biggest one we know about by sheer size, but if there is one thing that makes all three of us collectively lose it, it’s a well built GM wagon ripping around and defying physics.
“somebody”! in the UK.
Geordie ?
Cleetus McFarland on vacation
Have the \”woodgrain\” as a topper.
I like it! That will confuse people when it is ripping on an road course.
I love these wagons and the roadmaster is the best . ( I had a 94 LT1 caprice wagon ) This woul be a perfect companion to my 92 vette .
You mean somebody is building a sanity attack car – and no – even I’m not that mad…….
Are you sure cause it’s going to have an LS in it.
I knew you were alright Geordie.
Getting passed by that on the track will be even harder on the ego than it was for the guys who got passed by that ’64 or ’65 Ranchero with the lawnmower in the back.:):)
(I believe it was featured in Hot Rod magazine a few years back)
Ha! I actually managed to find it!

B-body platform with a C6 chassis stuffed under it!
There is a heaven!
I’m in love.
I dig it, but I’m glad it’s a Caprice Wagon, not a Roadmaster Estate. We need to keep the Buick RM-Es intact until I can buy them all.
it\’s a build my son and i are building,… seems the news has spread,..!
it\’s being build here in Wisconsin, full tubular chassis, just C6 subframes
I have the C6 power in a \”B\” body but missing the drivetrain 🙂
