(Photos by Bob Chiluk) – The title is kind of bold, right? One of America’s greatest automotive events?! How the hell can anyone make that statement? We think we’re mildly qualified. This is firstly a show which has a scope that is beyond comprehension. The number of cars that come to Columbus every year for this weekend can number in the five digit range. There’s one reason.

Secondly this is an event that really birthed the “mega-show” trend that we see today. Events with all different kinds of things to do and stuff to participate in. Thirdly, the autocross section of the weekend is beyond phenomenal. Look at the cars shown in these photos. From open wheel former race cars out there for fun to some of the most expensive and incredible pro touring cars ever built, something for everyone. Lastly there’s the staying power. It just keeps growing, evolving, and landing on people’s schedules as a “must do” experience.
