In news that will be music to the ears of enthusiasts from California clear across the country, Hotchkis Sport Suspension has inked an agreement to run four autocross events through the summer of 2015 at some of the biggest car shows in the country. Keep your lawn chairs at home and get ready to have a stellar time actually using your hot rod the way it should be used. These will be fun events and participant driven. Hotchkis has seen the explosion in autocrossing popularity over the last 10 years and has been one of the forces driving that growth across the nation. They have teamed up with a company this year and will have cone killing, corner burning, good times at following events:

Street Machine and Muscle Car Nationals – Pomona, California

The DuQuion Street Machine Nationals  – DuQuoin, Illinois

The Street Machine Summer Nationals – Minneapolis, Minnesota 

Fall Street Machine Nationals – Springfield, Illinois 

Each of those events draws thousands of participants annually so that means it will be a riot to watch stuff that both belongs and doesn’t on the course. From big trucks to lithe sports cars, all are welcome to come out and have some fun. We’re guessing that some Hotchkis H-team members will be there at these events as well to lend drivers a hand in learning to go quicker or assessing their current suspension situation and needs to make their cars work better. Long story short, this is great news if you are heading to these shows and some incentive to go if you don’t have them on your list already.

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. (November, 2014) – The days of the old-time car show where vehicles remained static for an entire weekend are over. Today’s car shows are a dynamic event featuring interactive displays and activities that engage both the participant and the spectator alike, which is exactly what you get when you incorporate an autocross into a show. Hotchkis Sport Suspension, a leading manufacturer of performance suspension systems for classic muscle and modern performance cars, understands this well and has teamed up with Family Events to bring autocross to the four events of the Detroit Muscle TV Summer Series for 2015.

Autocross has seen a massive surge in popularity among American muscle car owners over the last decade as these former barons of the drag strip have found new life as corner carving moguls. Thanks to modern suspension components from companies like Hotchkis, these vehicles have become so common at autocross events from coast to coast, that even the SCCA has created a class for them. Hotchkis has also been very active in the promotion of the sport, competing in autocross events across the country with its own cars, assembling a group of autocross ambassadors called the H-Team, and by organizing autocross events at NMCA races, Super Chevy shows, Carlisle events, and at the Hot Rod Power Tour.

In 2015, Hotchkis will bring its brand of exciting, challenging, and entertaining autocross to the four events of the Detroit Muscle TV Summer Series. These events include Street Machine and Muscle Car Nationals in Pomona, California, the DuQuion Street Machine Nationals in DuQuion, Illinois, the Street Machine Summer Nationals in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the Fall Street Machine Nationals in Springfield, Illinois. At each of these events, participants can expect a fun, yet technical course that is designed to test the limits of their street machines and their driving skills. In addition to class trophies for quickest time and sponsor awards, Hotchkis will be presenting the driver with the quickest average time of the event with the special “Hotchkis Cup” award – rewarding clean, consistent runs and superior car control. The Hotchkis autocross event will also be one of the three integral elements to the Detroit Muscle TV Street Machine of the Year competition that also includes a dyno challenge and vehicle design judging.

Every Hotchkis Autocross event will also incorporate a large amount of spectator interaction in addition to the thrilling sights and sounds of the nation’s best street machines screaming around the course. Hotchkis will be offering rides in its demonstration vehicles at every event, giving lucky enthusiasts the ride of a lifetime as its G-machines do what they do best – defy the laws of physics around each corner and put a huge smile on the face of every passenger. Spectators will also be treated to a special Autocross Marketplace where event sponsors will display their latest products and innovations for autocross and other forms of performance driving.

The Hotchkis Autocross is open to any vehicle that passes a simple safety inspection that checks for leaking fluids or loose parts that can become a hazard on the track. The only piece of safety equipment required to participate is a helmet and a limited number of loaners will be available at each event for drivers that don’t have their own.
