This is a really, really nice car. At least by our estimation it is. We get caught up like everyone else in being obsessed with the flashy and high foot builds that some of the great shops in the country crank out but what about the cars that are far more humble and good? Cars like this one. We’re pretty sure that this could be the nicest 1976 Chevelle in America and we’re saying that with a straight face! No, we’re not the biggest fans of the stacked headlight cars but look at how nice this one is! The interior looks as plush and new as it did when it rolled out of the factory in ’76. The engine is no longer the pinging 305 but rather a mildly warmed up mid-1990s 350 small block, the paint color is cool, and the Cragar S/S wheels have never looked more appropriate on a car before. Are we wrong here?
The asking price of this car is just under $7,000 and for us it’s hard to argue. No rust, fresh tires, exhaust, engine, etc. What more is there to ask for? No you will not have 2,000hp at the end of your toe. No, you will not be pulling 1.2 lateral G on the autocross, but you will be cruising with a smile on your face and able to chew up miles at events like Power Tour and others in comfort and style. You can also fix this car and its drivetrain in any country on Earth, any planet in the solar system, and for next to nothing.
Nicest in America? We’re not sure but we know we love it. Thanks to Rocco for the tip.
