Update Video: Here’s The Latest Installment Of The Hagerty Cadillac 365 Rebuild – Fun At The Machine Shop

We’re digging the Cadillac 365 project and this latest installment is a good one. Broken into a couple of parts, we see the layout of all the parts and components that Davin is working with to restore/refresh and then we take a trip to the machine shop to get the block and heads checked out, get the rods resized, and assess how things like the crack in the exhaust manifold can and will be repaired. You can almost smell the machining oil as you watch this.

These old Cadillac engines were powerhouses when they first hit the streets and swapping them into anything and everything was the hot rodder’s MO back then. You can crack open car magazines from the 1950s and 1960s and see these engines swapped into all kinds of crazy stuff by any means necessary. Yes, this one is a stock rebuild but it is neat to see all the parts and process that are going into it. Certainly not a slap-dash job, these guys are doing it right like they always do.

Lastly we get a peek at the little Honda trail bike engine as well. That build is slowly picking up steam and will be at it full speed once the Cadillac is complete. Gearhead fun!
