After I landed in California a week or so ago to ride with Chad up to Bakersfield for the March Meet, the cool old cars were all around. The one thing that everyone from California takes for granted is the fact that you can actually buy an old car as a daily driver and use it without fear of falling through the floors, having the doors fall off, etc. While rolling up the highway we spotted something very cool, which was an early Jag XKE being trailered by a Jag repair guy either to or from his shop. I guess I have to admit that I have a soft spot for XKEs as I find them to be some of the best looking cars ever made. While not V8 powered, they’ll run hard as well with a tuned up engine and this video is proof.
The film you are about to see below was made a couple years ago at Pacific Raceway up in Washington State and it shows a classic Jag getting busy in a vintage road race with a bunch of other cool old cars around the track. The sound of the screaming six cylinder engine and the business-like looks of the car’s interior had us dialed in to this one really quick. I am pretty sure that this is the first time in nearly 10,000 items we have featured in-car video of an XKE being raced in competition. This is pretty cool stuff.

Cool video. He did good using the slower car to finally get aroung the Camaro, which was pushing like a mother through those 2 down hill turns.

Great vid. I give the owner/driver props for driving a car that cost at least 15 x the value of all of my junk like he stole it. I’d be scared to even park a XKE at Walmart.
