This 1970 Chevelle Concours Wagon Has Factory Big Block Power, Woodgrain, and A Minto Interior!

We know that some of you don’t get our love for station wagons. Your opinion is wrong and we respect that. For those of you that to get our love for all things long-roofed, we think that you will really dig on this 1970 Chevelle Concours wagon. The car is a factor LS5 powered unit which means 360 stock hp. The engine has been played with as we can see tube headers on it and we’re not sure if it has a cam, compression, head work, etc. The guy selling the car claims that it is pretty rare and we don’t doubt that. The Chevy-philes out there will tell us if you could actually order a 1970 Chevelle wagon as an SS model or if those badges were added later on in the car’s life but aside from all that factory correct stuff, this is a really nice car. The interior is just about perfect, the wood looks like it was just laid on yesterday, and the trim is sweet as well. Overall, this would be a really fun family cruiser.

We have to admit that we’d probably like the car a smidge more without the rally stripes and adding some body colored steel wheels with poverty caps would be a move in the sleeper direction that we’d approve of. The luggage rack is cool as all get out and we’d have no problem driving this car as it sits but we have to have something to nit pick on, right? What would you change?

Hit the link below to read the ad and see if you can make heads or tails about what this car actually was when new. We decipher it as a factory LS5 wagon, but maybe we’re missing something…

Wagons that are real ordered cars are cool . Years ago I pulled an one owner 70 country squire out of the weeds beside a house nothing left of the car but the 429 c6 posi 3.50 combo even oil pan was rotted thru .

Would really wonder if the car is a factory big block. SS badging and striping were added, would a factory big block (ordered non-SS) come with a TH350 and 10 bolt rear? Does have the SS (or more likely, Monte Carlo, since its wood grain) dash..

Would be interested in knowing what’s really going on here.

    Still a neat wagon.

I’m leaning toward the LS5 being a transplant. I don’t remember any kind of big block available in Chevy Abody wagons until maybe 72 or so. And it would never be hitched to a 10 bolt and/orTH350.
    Nice wagon anyway.
