Normally when we are showing you a cool Redline Rebuild video from Hagerty it is centered around an engine and just an engine. This time though, the engine is a part of the whole package as you are about to see a classic and customized 1957 Harley-Davidson motorcycle rebuilt from the ground up in four minutes and change. For whatever reason I have been on a motorcycle kick around here recently and this video falls right into it. I love the classic styling of the motorcycle and frankly I did not hate the version that they started with! That being said, the version that they ended up with is totally amazing.
These videos are fun because they move so fast you really have to keep a sharp eye to see many of the details. Stuff like the totally mangled looking piston that is visible when the jugs are pulled off the engine, stuff like the frame modifications that are altered during the course of reconstruction. These guys are never trying to hide anything but it is a time lapse so you only have like one frame at a time to lock into.
The coolest part of this one is the ending. You’ll see why when you watch it’ all the way through.
I’m learning more about what I like and do not like when it comes to motorcycles. A machine like this Harley hits me right between the eyes. It is simple, it is cool, it island, and it looks like it would be just a fun thing to plop down onto and go ripping around town on.
