Few sights take my breath away quicker and harder than an old medium duty truck turned into a pickup for fun. I’ve lived that life, owned one, and loved it with all my heart. Trucks like this 1962 Ford F700 are just so bad ass that they nearly defy words.
This rig is not just awesome in looks, it is awesome in practice as well. A 292ci V8 powers the truck, a stick shift backs the engine and Coleman four wheel drive pins down the corners. The transfer case has been rebuilt, the machine runs and drives, and we just love how well the bed has been fitted. It looks factory and that’s the point. She fender flares need to be worked in to make sure the outer tires are covered and we’d slap some paint on it but other than that, I’m smitten.
For those of you wondering what a truck like this would drive like, wonder no more. It will be slow, bouncy as hell, and effectively ride like a Conestoga wagon. You’ll love every second of it. The price of this truck at $12,000 is pretty wild. The rarity of the four wheel drive and the fact that it works certainly accounts for most of that, we’re guessing.
This is a really, really good rig. Thanks for Jame for the tip!
I like this one better than the wrecker above.
take 4 front fenders to make a dually fender for the back. Use the cab side up the centre and stitch together. Should graft into the box really easy and be easy to fake the aged paint
What I said earlier.
thats a really nice (slick ) bed to Hack up…
I would have used a step side bed
Take the outer of the duals off in the back.
Thanks…now it’s perfect
