Rollin’ Thunder: This 895ci Air-Cooled Former Tank Engine Is Just What Your Vintage Truck Project Needs

Now this right here is the cure for the common LS swap, right? We know that someone out there has a vintage truck project and that they’re wanting the thing to have about 500hp, sound good, and go down the road reliably. That means they’re thinking of a worked up small block, a mildly touched LS engine, or a super mild big block. But what about going al the way off the rails and installing an 895ci flat six engine that formerly powered a military vehicle? Think of the benefits! No cooling system to worry about, no other truck in the state sounding the same, a sub-3000 RPM power peak, and more!

Alan Reinhart sent this one to me and Lord only knows what he was searching for when he found it. The engine is currently mounted on a trailer and gets hauled around and fired up a shows. That means it’s in great working order and it should be ready to slide right into the nose of your ol’ truck.

Sure the flywheel adapter may be a little tricky but someone can figure it out. That someone is you. Check out the photos and specs below.
