Beautiful Beast Of Burden: This 1956 Ford F-100 Has An Amazing Utility Body And Is Weathered Perfectly

Alan Reinhart gets the credit for sending me this big truck that will haunt my dreams for months on end. You are looking at a wonderful 1956 Ford F-600 that’s equipped with one of the most interesting utility bodies I think I have ever seen. It event has a “crew area” in the body. I’m wondering what kind of work this thing did. It sure looks like it was well maintained over the years. It has its scars and nicks but it is largely intact and we’re sure that it was likely worked every day of its natural life, or at least most of them.

Packing a 292ci Y-Block V8 engine, a five-speed manual transmission that is hooked to a 2-speed rear end. The glass is all there, the body  is not rotted, the brakes need some work, and it is all just so freaking cool.

Imagine the stories that this truck and the utility body could tell if they could talk. Most of them would probably be pretty good and a few of them would probably leave us running to clean our ears with an icepick.

I’ve never seen a truck like this, from this era come up for sale. Truly amazing.
