QA1 Project Corkscrew Update: This Video Shows The First Pre-Build Drive Of The 1969 D100 Truck!

You don’t know where you are going if you don’t know where you came from, right? That’s the point of this QA1 Project Corkscrew update video. You are going to see this virtually stock 1969 Dodge D100 get driven around the streets and then put through an impromptu parking lot slalom course that will show you just how radically slow the steering ratio is. Hey, if you need a necker-knob to actually weave through the cones, you know the deal is battleship slow.

The truck is awesome and largely stock outside of a dual exhaust system that was installed at some point. There are loads of guys who would kill to start with a project this clean and we’re among them. We like this “before” video because the reality is that the truck will be a completely different vehicle once these guys are done with the better steering, suspension, wheels and tires.

We know. Old trucks with parallel leaf springs are not supposed to handle well. This is fun stuff and we look forward to the wrenching in the next video!

I see these young spoiled little boys aint never had to deal with something of a different time. Work with what ya got. Not with what ya whish ya got. A lot of bitching for a well-used 50 plus-year-old stock truck. And I know they have to sell what they are going to do to it. I’ll have to watch this. However, if they put airbags in it, I’m done.
