This is the only BangShift approved Kia Sorrento in the world. Why? Because some flamin’ maniac installed a 468ci big block Chevy, a 700R4 transmission, and an NP 205 transfer case in this truck and created one of the weirdest freaks we have ever seen. The best part? It basically looks like the factory did the work. We have no idea how much power the iron headed beast makes but we do know that it likely makes triple (or more) the torque of the original engine. Hell, we don’t even know how you start down the road of considering this swap! We’re guessing that you cross paths with a clean Sorrento with a wrecked engine, look into the open bay, and then start measuring. This is freaking awesome.
We are wondering what people think when they are sitting at a light next to this machine and rather than the quiet hum of a little four cylinder engine there is the throbbing beat of a V8. They probably look around, assume it is another vehicle, and get the shock of their lives when you bury the gas coming out of the hole and blow through a couple gears in the process.
According to the seller, the touchscreen, bluetooth, and all of the other amenities work as well. No performance numbers were given for the engine so a trip to the chassis dyno will be necessary and the drag strip needs to be a part of the program so that some performance calibration can be done. It does apparently have stock axles in it which is creepy and the drag strip may kill those but if need be the wrecking yard is right around the corner anyway.
I think we need to champion a new name for cars like this one. Freekers. You have the totally freaky element of the big engine wrapped in a total sleeper package. You may hate Kia cars and Sorrentos specifically but we’re finding it REALLY hard to hate on this one. Mean!

We installed the radio as well as got the truck threw inespction.
How’d you guys sneak a 468 bbc through emissions inspection in an ’05 efi car? Only curious cuz i’m about to do an offroad project, and would like to be able to drive it to the mud park rather than trailer it.
What is a “Sorrento?”
That is way clean. Wonder what the reserve price is set at?
What part remotely looks like it came for the factory in a 2005 vehicle?
Like any new car weight makes these thing far less a sleeper than you’d think by the size.
From Edmunds… “CURB WEIGHT 4123 lbs.”
That is with the V6 so figure it’s now 4400+
Might as well use a 75 Monte Carlo or a 66 Caprice.
Still looks like a giant jellybean.
I would not want to have to replace that distributor.
The Kia is my adaptation of a sleeper
