Our pals over at Rat Rod Magazine have teamed up with Rocket Racing Wheels again this year on a build that will be put to the test on the magazine’s yearly rat rod road tour that will see it pounded on for thousands of miles. Steve Thaemert, the dude running the show at Rat Rod told us that they went super controversial with the build this year and that it is a true “Rocket” theme. He wouldn’t tell us what they started with or what they ended up with, but he did tell us that we’re going to be the first outlet on the web to get photos when the car is unveiled at the massive Back to the 50s car show in Minnesota this Friday. Hey, with Rocket Racing Wheels on board we can guarantee that you’ll dig the wheels. The rest of the car? We’ll just have to wait and see on that!

What I’m saying is the West Coast gets screwed every time. Never a tour in the west, Power Tour, nothing.
You know west coast guys get more fun stuff than east coast guys. Atleast the west coast guys have better selection of cars, junkyards and so on and so on. Why do you think most mags are from the west coast. Although the east coast is more performance oriented.
West coast gets boned? What? LAST year’s tour wound up in Las Vegas (well…Henderson technically) for the huge Ratpalooza show! We were there Friday through Sunday last September right after Labor Day! Cheer up sparky…we’ll be out there again sometime. If you live in CA, you have year-round opportunities to see cool stuff that those of us in the frozen tundra can only dream about!
