BangShift Question Of The Day: What Event Are You Most Looking Forward To Attending This Year?

BangShift Question Of The Day: What Event Are You Most Looking Forward To Attending This Year?

After a great weekend of action at the 2013 March Meet, one of the things I was most excited to do is in the books. It’ll be a busy year for us here at BS with event season really starting to pick up now so I have a list of stuff I am pumped up about experiencing for the first time or heading back to as a tradition. Chad and I are hoping that you’ve got something on the list that you are counting down the days to experience as well and we want to know what it is!

Hell, it doesn’t even have to be an event. Maybe you are coming up on the completion of a project, the purchase of a new one, or just doing something automotive related that you’ve not done before. The one thing that really sticks out for me personally right now is Bonneville, which I am going to attend for the first time this year. You know my love of all things history related in the worlds of hot rodding, drag racing, and racing in general, so getting to the salt will be a deep experience for sure.

We want to know what you’re looking forward to doing. Local cruises? Goodguys event? First time on an autocross or strip? Going to a driving school? Spectating at something neat? Spill the beans!

I am looking forward to Speed Week and Cook’s Landspeed Challenge on the Bonneville salt flats. There are some beutiful new cars coming out and some big horsepower. I am anticipating 500 mph +.

Junior Drag Racing Leagues Western Conference Finals…end of June at Bandimere Speedway…a week of racing bliss with the family. The March Meet is now done so it’s time to focus on the Junior racing.

The Street Machine Nationals in Du Quoin, Ill. I haven’t seen it in 20+ years because of my military career.

BGHRR, St Louis NHRA race because we won tix for all 3 days and hospitality tent access with Cruz Pedregon sat/sun! Also getting to tour Ron Huegli’s shop and the Tiki Warrior BB/FC in April.

The Beach Hop here in New Zealand!. 1000 cars offically entered, and a couple of thousand unofficial. First time i’ve had my 8/71 blown, 502 powered, ’68 Camaro to the event. Open headers, blower whine and (hopefully) sunshine. Just a week to go and a lot to do!.

I like going to the Gasser reunion at Empire Dragway near Rochester.. It’s in August.

Hope to see Yellowbullet and Shakedown Nats again this year. Last year’s events were wild!

Im busting my bottom to get to Good Guys Fort Worth this weekend. I want to embarrass myself at the autocross infront of Chad.

Hot Rod Reunion, Beech Bend. Probably the only big event I’ll go to. Been trying to get there for the past couple of years but something always got in the way. My family tells me that this is the year!

NASCAR Camping World Trucks at Mosport. Their first visit to Canada. Nothing like 900 hp pickup trucks on a road course!
