We’ll tell you right off the bat that this is not your typical “barn find”. There are no Super Birds, no big block Camaros, no old factory race cars, and nothing even resembling a muscle car in here. This barn find which is actually a farm find come from France and it is chock full of amazing European beauties that have been rusting comfortably where they currently sit for decades. It is a story of wealth and loss, of collection and abandonment. Thankfully it is also a story of discovery and redemption for many of these cars because they are all set to be auctioned off in just a couple of months. When you see the photos below you may have some of the same concerns that we do, primarily that some of these cars look like they are about ready to break in half as they sit. We’re not sure how some of them will be moved without causing more damage than there already is.
Instead of Chryslers, Buicks, and Chevrolets, this group of cars shouts with names like Ferrari, Facel-Vega, Voisin, Talbot-Lago, and other long dead European makes that had heavy technological influence and perhaps even more heavy styling influences on cars around the globe. Even in their rusting state, many of these cars are stunning to look at. Their coach built bodies, huge round fenders, and sloping rooflines are all distinctly European. Bugatti and Delahaye are also well represented here but there are a few cars that really stick out to us. The Ferrari 308GTS is awesome, the Delage is the epitome of what style and class look like and both of those cars have a visceral look and appeal that nothing a car factory produces from this day until the end of time will ever have again.
Perhaps the biggest winners in this whole deal outside of the family of the late Roger Baillon who collected all this stuff are restoration shops all over the world where the majority of these cars will end up. Everything needs a total resto to be put back right and while we may sound like total dinks for saying this, all of these cars need to be put back right. This is like a jewelry box that your great grandmother owner being opened after 100 years. Yes, there is something about the way all the stuff looks just as she left it but wouldn’t you really want to see it in the state that she wore it? We want to see these cars coming out of shops with gleaming paint and chrome, perfect interiors, and engines that rumble, chuff, or in the case of the Ferraris, scream.
This really is an amazing find, even if you don’t give a rip about old European cars and frankly we largely don’t. Just the scale of it, the value of it, and the potential for beauty and lies in these cars is well worth a few minutes of your time exploring the story and the photos.

I cant wait to see pics of these cars after they have been dragged out of these barns. There are some pretty awesome cars in there.
I’m right there with you. All of these need to be restored. Although the thought of a rat rod Ferrari is damn appealing…
The Facel Vega is the closest you could get to a muscle car. It’s got a Hemi under
