Perfect Pass: Watch This Brazilian Team Lay Down A Stick Shifted 4.60 Eighth Mile Rip

We always talk about drag racing as being its own kind of international language, right? Well this video is further proof of the accuracy of that opinion . Why? You are about to see a Brazilian drag racing team lay down what looks to be a nearly flawless pass in their four banger, single turbo hot rod. Their reaction on the starting line is priceless, the driver’s reaction in the car is priceless, and it is the same reaction one would find in Kansas, Warsaw, or Queensland, Australia if a group of guys had sweat and bled over a car and then seen its true potential. The emotional release that comes when “everything performs” from the chassis, to the driver, to the engine, and the track is fantastic and one of my favorite elements in the sport of drag racing.

I can’t say if these guys were struggling and this was the performance breakthrough they wanted of if perhaps they had been trying to break into the 4.60s (eighth mile) for a long time but either way, they are beyond happy when the scoreboard lights. Even better is the fact that this appears to happen in the final round of a race and they completely bury their opponent.

In watching the run from all angles, you will see and hear the car hook, leave, and then the driver shifts the thing like a world beater, snicking through all the gears with not one touch of the rev limiter. This is a car that’ll go 7.30s of quicker on a  quarter mile pass and again, that’s with a single turbo on a little four banger engine.

This video will put a smile on your face for sure.
