Our live broadcast of the PRO Winter Warm Up at Palm Beach International Raceway in Florida was a smashing success. We had a great audience that got a neat behind the scenes look at how NHRA nitro teams prepare for the full tour and they got to see some kick ass side by side racing on Friday and Saturday evening. The super bitchin’ bonus for Chad and I was the fact that several professional teams allowed us to slap BangShift decals on their race cars for the weekend. We were dancing around and jumping like idiots when Ron Capps, Matt Hagan, Terry McMillan and Jeff Arend flew the BangShift colors in front of a packed house.
The decals were most prominently displayed on Jeff Arend’s Toyota bodied car which is part of the Kalitta Racing organization and is sponsored by DHL. Todd Meyers who is the head of PR for team Kalitta shot Chad and I a note that we could drop by with decals and stick them on the car for Saturday. Since the body was unpainted/unwrapped, the crew gave us carte blanch to put them anywhere we wanted. The rear quarters looked good to us and we slapped those babies on there. The white decals looked good against the carbon fiber body.
That night we swung back through the pits and thanked all the guys who ran our name on their car. It meant a lot to both of us and even though it was a small gesture on their part, it really was bad ass. Wanted a photo with the sticker and frankly, this sums him up pretty well.
