Deployments suck for military members, make no mistake. You’re away from your family and friends, you’re wearing pretty much the same clothes over and over and over again for however long you’re gone, and in my personal experience, the only thing you’ll be driving for the next several months are military vehicles that require a calendar for 0-60 times. As a car geek, deployments really bite. When a John Deere M-Gator and a very clapped-out Nissan truck is all that’s around to get your fix, it’s not a good day. What is a good day is when you get back…you get to take the car you have missed for so long out and go have a some fun. That’s exactly what this guy did. After returning home from a deployment, the very next day he broke out his 460-powered 1980 Ford Mustang Cobra and entered a burnout contest. That’s how you do it, folks!
You know that whole thing about “absence makes the heart grow fonder”? Believe me, nothing…but nothing…will make you appreciate your machine more than being away from it for so long. After driving HMMWVs that can’t get out of their own way for a year, that Mustang had to have felt like riding a Saturn V into space.
Those dudes standing beside the car scare me. How many tire failures have we seen during burnout competitions?
Fox Mustang, 460, high hopes….With all due respect….. that p.o.s. Commodore ute that threw it’s rods in the other video did a much better burnout
Welcome home Brother. Have some FUN for a change.
