Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You might see an old truck with a funky nose that looks like it’s barely hanging on for life, but we see an awesome build that we’d love to own. What we have here is a 1948 REO Speed Wagon pickup, a fairly rare find in it’s own accord, that has been plopped down onto a 1991 Dodge 250 frame that brings with it the 12V Cummins 5.9L inline-six diesel and five-speed manual transmission. What’s really awesome about this built is that it’s daily driven, including a weekly jaunt that takes the REO 260 miles round-trip. With 15,000 miles on the build, all that’s needed is some fine details, like new glass, some numbers on the speedometer (which could use a new gear, by the way) and some inner fenders for the front fabricated up. Otherwise, you have a highway-cruisable truck that has a look that hasn’t been seen in decades…or, at least, since REO disappeared in 1975.

Love the REO’s. My 47 F22 has a bad spedo too, its stuck at 60 which is funny because it won’t go that fast!
I was going to say, “Good thing it’s in ____, or I’d have a really hard time resisting this one.” Except in this case, ____ is less than 150 miles from my house!
