My pal Scott Vanderschorr tipped me off to the existence of this truck for sale on Craigslist in Iowa and I cannot stop staring at it. Both Scott and I believe it probably carried a huge fertilizer tank on its back for much of its life and was driven around the fields fertilizing crops. The engine is a 6V71 Detroit two stroke diesel, so we have the screaming goodness down, the tires look to be 66-inchers in the rear which is standard monster truck fare. The front tires, although still massive are of a smaller diameter. We’re not sure on those. Maybe somewhere in the high 50″ or low 60″ diameter? They are large enough to swallow a Yugo no problem, I know that. We’d have to fix the 2WD situation with a huge axle, maybe a Marmon-Herrington or something from a mobile crane would do the trick. Top speed is probably about a brisk walk and that would be all we’d need for the destructive kinds of fun this truck would allow the operator.
There’s some rust, but the seller says that the thing runs and drives great and has fewer than 17,000 miles on it. There are some logistical problems in getting this baby back home to Massachusetts and they center around….well they center around every aspect of this truck. The costs of a divorce attorney would add to the $2500 purchase price as well.
Look at this truck. Once you start staring, you really won’t be able to stop. I wish there was some video of it attempting to blow donuts in a muddy field with that screaming Detroit working hard!

I’d love to have it for that once every two years or so that wqe get a snow dump along with drifting. Yeah I’d take it drifting alright.
Memo to Mrs. Lohnes,
Forget about that kitchen remodel you were hoping for. The funds are no longer available due to a new vehicle appropriation…
Brian- Back away from the computer, go the KFC and buy some chicken fingers or something- you have enough “junk”.
I looks like a good platform to build a doomsday vehicle out of.
Would this qualify for the truck racing bruab was so excited about earlier this year?
Ultimate zombie survival vehicle.
