Loved the all-Canadian Mopar funny car match-up (‘Cuda vs. Super Bird).
Back in ’92 I was living in Caledonia, Ontario, Canada and one Sunday morning while jogging I saw the nose of a Funny Car poking out of a home garage in my neighbourhood. It was a Funny all right, namely a very well-known Southern California team’s car that was being painted in the guy’s home shop, thousands of miles from L.A.
Also living in that small town was a guy who competed every year at Bonneville PLUS many racers who ran at the nearby Cayuga strip AND circle track guys who called Flamboro, etc. home.
It was quite a happening spot and probably still is!
As Bob Hope used to say when signing off on his t.v. specials, “Thanks for the memories!”
