Having taken you to Texas and then to eastern Massachusetts, we now wing you to Byron, Illinois, home of the legendary Byron Dragway. Greg Rourke, our photo contributor located in the “center mass” portion of the country, managed to get himself on the wall at Byron this weekend to capture some great drag racing action.
Being that this was a bracket bash weekend, you’ll see everything from mildly modified muscle cars, to blown BAE Hemi powered slingshots. While it may be confusing to the part time drag racing fan, bracket racing definitely embodies everything cool about sportsman drag racing, which centers around the creative and mechanical abilities of its amateur competitors.
