Our pals over at Ridetech have been all over the first ever Midwest Musclecar Shootout. As one of the event sponsors and a company at the vanguard of the high-performance handling end of the aftermarket, it’s only natural that they’d be on this like a bum on a ham sandwich. They shot piles of photos and kept up with the event scoring over the course of the event last weekend.
This wasn’t just an event where people showed up to a race track and hammered on their cars and went home. It was a multi-faceted deal that challenged competitors to carve up a road course, make a nearly 100-mile drive, hammer the binders in a braking challenge, and then compete on a unique and viscous autocross course.
The entries varied from the usual suspects of Camaros to the awesome, like early 1970s Chevy trucks.
If you have the gusto and driving skills to compete make sure you stay tuned to find out when the 2011 version of the event will be held. This was a qualifier for the Optima Ultimate Street Car Shootout, which will be held after the SEMA show in Las Vegas.
Hit the link below and start with the photos, but make sure to check out all the awesome event coverage the guys at Ridetech put together. We know this junk isn’t easy to do, and they knocked it out of the park!
