(Photos by Dave Nutting) – BangShift’s own Chevy loving lensmen Dave Nutting braved the sweltering heat and funnel cakes of Pennsylvania last weekend at the yearly gathering of all things General, the Carlisle GM Nationals. Normally it is Joe Grippo who brings us the great images from the vast expanses of the Carlisle fairgrounds turned car show venue, but his deep love of Fords does not physically allow him to enter the facility. Enter Dave and his trusty camera.
All joking aside, this is a cool show in the fact that everything from Oaklands (read up if you don’t know what an Oakland is) to modern ZR1 Corvettes show up to this thing. While we certainly favor oogling the exposed pushrods and valvetrain of the Oakland, you’ve got to respect the modern supercars as well. There are Oldsmobiles, Buicks, and Cadillacs along with the expected volume of Chevys in this gallery along with a few cars that will really make your eyes bug out. Dave sent us a highlight reel of more than 350 photos, so you’ll see the good, some bad, and a few uglies in this collection.
Hit the link below to see jacked up drag machines, laid out dually trucks, restored race cars, nut and bolt concours muscle cars, and all the stuff that falls in between.
Thanks for the killer photos, Dave!

Good Stuff, Dnut…
First time I went, but a bit disappointed with the turnout. Only about 1/2 of the swap meet spaces were filled and the show car field was empty (Friday). The Chrysler event is always packed. Talked to a few friends and they said the GM show never really took off.
