(Dave Nutting photos) – This week, we’ll be telling you all about our adventurous road trip to visit the fine folks at Trick Flow, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, and the Lingenfelter Collection among other stuff. One of the unexpected things that we were able to do on Saturday was to attend the very first Motor City Hot Rod and Racing Expo at the convention center in Novi, Michigan. This was a neat event that was a lot like a mini-SEMA show with over 100 companies set up and displaying their wares, their shops, and their different racing series. We’re talking everything from fill on luxury motorhomes to pistons.

As you would imagine, there were lots of cool cars and trucks on display at the show and that’s what this gallery is all about. We picked out our favorite display vehicles and shared them with you in the gallery we have linked to below. It is always cool to be at the “first” of something, especially when there is a big crowd of people lined up and waiting to get in the door. It seems to us that the show was a big success and in conversations with folks after the event while we were cruising home, everyone was very positive about their experience and felt that the future was bright. Dave Szerlag and Luke Bogacki are the two guys who came up with the show and put it on. Both of them are well known drag racers and their contacts in the sport as well as a strong reception worked in their favor to fill the hall with companies, cool stuff, and paying spectators. That’s a win/win/win!
