That’s it, we’re done from Vegas! This is our last group of photos from the Mustang 50th birthday party at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and it is a good one, mainly because of the diversity of Mustangs you’ll see in it. From the honkin’ pro street machine above to the car designed to chase it down, the highway patrol Fox body below, Mustangs have been made to fit virtually every purpose over the years. Hell, there is even a station wagon version in this gallery.
As a kid of the 1980s, I’m not sure there is a cooler Mustang than a highway patrol Fox. They had the whole mythic “cop shocks, cop tires” deal going to them and as everyone knows now there’s the famous story about how it was designed to run down a Porsche passing it at 100 MPH while the cop car was sitting still in so many seconds, yadda yadda. We’re not sure if there is anything different between a regular GT and a cop car version but the cop car version is the one we have always wanted and still want. What about you. Would you take the pro street version above or the cop car version below? The shotgun rack is optional…or not.
