Photos by Joe Grippo: One of the reasons I’m proud to be a northern hot rodder is that we’re a hearty lot that isn’t dissuaded by the elements. Cold winter temperatures didn’t stop a couple of great winter gearhead gatherings at two of the best hot rod and custom shops on the East Coast. Posies Hot Rods and Carlevale Customs threw open their doors and parking lots to the masses recently and our Pennsylvanian photo maven Joe Grippo was on the scene to bring us the goods.
These were not huge shows, but they certainly drew out some awesome iron and frankly whenever you get the chance to peek behind the curtain at a place like Posies or Carelvale you should. The work that rolls out of those two places is literally world class, as you will see in the gallery. The most interesting car we found is show in greater detail below, is the wonderful Kaiser-camino. We’d be lying if we tried to tell you that we knew what year and model the thing is, but damned if it isn’t totally gorgeous.
This year, you’ll notice that there is no snow on the ground. Since this is a hearty winter gathering that didn’t stop them in 2010 so the “better” conditions this year brought our more cool cars and hard core ‘rodders.
