Excited For The New Ford Bronco? This Video Of The Prototype Being Tested Is Short, Sweet, and Cool

The buzz surrounding the return of the Ford Bronco is BIG. There have been rumors of the truck coming back for years, all kinds of wacky renderings have shown up, but no one knows for 100% what this thing is going to look like, what platform it will ride on, and all of that. The good news is that from the looks of this video, the thing is going to be ready for off-road action right out of the gate. Ford dropped this short video the other day and it shows some of the off-road testing being done with the Bronco prototype in Johnson Valley, California. You know Johnson Valley as the home of the fabled “King of the Hammers” off road race.

Anyway, as you can see, the prototype looks to be an extended Ranger cab with a bobbed bed on the back. We know that the final product will not look this dorky but we also know that a prototype is going to have the same wheelbase, suspension, and other pieces on it as the final product, especially this late in the game when the rig is going to debut in a couple of months.

It looks to us like the Bronco prototype has four wheel independent suspension. Watching the section where the truck bashes over the rocks, just pay attention to the relationship of the left and right wheels as it hits the uneven terrain. Seems to use that they’re both on their own program.

Will there be a normal version and a “Raptor” style version? We do not know that much yet. With the F-250 getting its Tremor off-road variant it would make sense for the Bronco to have a hardcore version of itself as well. Time will tell!

The rate this thing is being developed, the Bronco and Cybertruck will hit showrooms on the same week.

I had such high hopes for the Bronco, but this thing is so out of proportion and ugly I can’t imagine being interested in it. So sad.

I think the video is a ranger with a topper on back. Which is OK because I feel the bronco will just be a ranger without a bed.
