One person’s loss is about to be someone else’s gain. The Sublime Green Dodge Challenger Hellcat that met it’s end in Colorado after on 64 short miles on the road will be put up for sale, Allpar reports.
The Hellcat met it’s demise shortly after leaving the dealership. Both passengers were uninjured, but the Challenger took one heavy hit to the front. The driver’s and passenger’s airbags are blown, but in the good news department, the 6.2L engine still starts and runs, and it’s a six-speed car. I’m sure you can see where we’re going with this. FCA doesn’t have a Hellcat crate engine program going yet, so as far as getting your hands on one, good luck. While the Challenger isn’t ready for sale yet, consider this all the luck you could need. And you better believe that this car is going to go for a premium: according to Allpar, shops that have managed to get their hands on just the motor are selling them for about $17,000. You have the whole package right here…anyone want to take a guess on what this Challenger will bring when it’s finally auctioned off?

Man oh man, all that potential needs to go into something bland and boring and make the ultimate sleeper.
Google “SRT-8 Mirada” and you’ll get my idea.
I see what you mean, that Mirada finally got the ponies it deserved. A Hellcat powerplant in a Mirada would be plain ridiculous, especially considering the older car is about 2/3 the weight of the Challenger.
I like your idea with the Mirada.
I am now just waiting on TJ Martin / GuitarSlinger / ColoradoKid aka Jimmy Kendrick’s rant on this Hellcat Challenger.
Honestly, it’s a lot easier to simply choose not to participate in his tirade trains. The internet is full of bozos spewing hate and frothing at the mouth, and the 350,000 hours I get on Earth (if I’m lucky) are better left not wasted on internet trolls.
Don’t be baited by that “putts”. Relax!
yeah he’s full of so much shit
he has to use seveal
different names
and….. no one ….
gives a shit what he thinks !!!!!!!!!
Aspen/Volare station wagon.
Now THAT would be a sleeper. At least until you burned the tires down to the rims the first time you stomped the go pedal.
YEAH! An Aspen wagon with a Hellcat heart would rock!
Steelies with dog dish hubcaps, natch.
I’d look at something like a Duster or Demon for that motor.
Just goes to show, money doesn’t buy talent. As much as I dislike these overhyped tanks, I still hate to see one wrecked like this….
I would just fix it, I have fixed way worse, it is definately repairable.
There are so many cars this could go into. An A100, AMC Gremlin, and a 61 Plymouth Valiant come to mind for me.
This drivetrain needs to be in a black 1968 Coronet four door. I’d drive to Vegas to see that baby built.
Happy Friday BS’ers……….
Put the engine and trans in a 1970 Challenger – make it an R/T and make it stock looking. Yummy!
I knew it was just a matter of time !!! I’m guessing $35K to fix it
These look to be selling in the 70K range. This car is a good color & the manual trans. Since these salvage auctions started selling online you now have the general public bidding. My guess is this will sell for around 40K. Somebody’s going to think they can fix this for 10-12K.
I have a 72 Duster. That motor should be in my Duster…just saying. It would be more fitting than the big block Chevy I’ve got now. -Half Breed-
A ’78-’79 Magnum XE maybe? That car needs the balls to match the spacey looks.
I have a 69 Barracuda that engine and transmission would look awesome in !
What a shame, I would guess $55,000, I would take it to a really good body man and try to salvage it or buy the finest challenger money could buy and make it one of a kind, if I had the money.
How much for the engine
