Lebanon Valley Dragway, located in West Lebanon, New York, is a strip that has served the western New England hot rod scene for decades. Today it is literally a lake after being overrun by massive flooding. Early reports are that sections of the shutdown area have been washed away and the damage is extensive.
The track has a small river that runs on one side, thus the single set of stands on the left side of the track only. Apparently the soggy spring and summer we have been experiencing here in New England finally added up to this disasterous scene. Stories of massive Class A motorhomes with water up to their windshield wipers have been confirmed.
Track employees and management worked heroically with heavy equipment ro rescue as many cars, trailers, and motorhomes as possible. Why was stuff in the pits? Like lots of tracks, weekly racers are allowed to store their stuff in the pits between race dates. No doubt that there are several cars literally under water right now.
We’re tipping a 40oz, ok fine, we’re tipping two 40ozs. This sucks.
Here’s a link to a thread on Class Racer.com with lots of info.
