Friday Excuse to Go Home Early and Drink: We Enjoyed a Jeremy Clarkson Column

Normally, Jeremy Clarkson, made famous by the BBC hit show Top Gear, is known for bashing the daylights out of American cars and anything that has to do with them. He comes off as arrogant, elitist, smarmy, and generally jerky.

In the column you’ll read here, he’s all those things, but his attitude is directed at the new Honda Insight hybrid.

We’re not anti-hybrid. Hell, we’ve driven a Fusion hybrid and it blew our minds how well the thing worked and transitioned between its gas motor and electric power. What we’re anti is the dink hybrids, most specifically the Prius and Insight, as they are image cars that really do not live up to the advertising hype of being the saviors of personal transportation that their makers purport them to be.

Needless to say, Clarkson doesn’t love the Insight. In fact, this is the most horrifyingly bad automotive review we have ever read.

Enjoy, and before you hit the link, settle in with a long tall glass of your favorite libation. Revel in someone else’s misfortune for a little while. We’ve been reveling in our own for weeks.
