Just Go And Buy One: The Five-Year-Old Who Tried Driving To California To Buy A Lamborghini

Just Go And Buy One: The Five-Year-Old Who Tried Driving To California To Buy A Lamborghini

One of the more fun stories that bounce around my family is an incident where, when I was five, I tried driving off in a Ford Mustang. It wasn’t an isolated incident. By the time I was five I was all but certain that I had driving down pat. I understood how the basic start, stop and steer functions worked after helping my grandfather relieve himself of extra cash at the local go-kart track. I was a bigger kid, so reaching the pedals and seeing over the dash wasn’t a big deal. In fact, if it hadn’t been for the fact that I buried the pedal to the floor and proceeded to pinstripe the road, I might have actually gotten away with it for a bit. But one kid from Utah didn’t get away with it, and his story is a lot more interesting than just wanting to go for a cruise.

Five year old Adrian Zamarripa wanted to buy a Lamborghini. He insisted on it. But after an argument with his mother, which didn’t end well for the youngster, he decided that he was going to take it upon himself to go buy one. After his parents went to work and his sister caught a nap, he snagged the keys to the family SUV and managed to make it onto Interstate 15, where a Utah Highway Patrol trooper spotted what they initially believed to be an impaired driver when they spotted the vehicle doing just over 30 miles an hour and weaving lanes. After pulling over the Dodge Journey, the officer was surprised to see Zamarripa in the driver’s seat, ready to go with three bucks, hoping to get his dream Lambo.

Somehow, after the story made the airwaves, people reached out and a local businessman gave the kid a ride around the block in his Lamborghini Huracán. The police are still working on the charges, but the kid’s already got a lot to deal with at home following this stunt.

The fact the kid pulled over is what impresses me. Operating a car without hitting things is not THAT hard. Knowing to pull over…..

Charges? Want to know how I know things used to be better,”back in my day” tongue lashing from the cops for the kid and parents and it is done.
