SCTA Bonneville Speed Week 2018: More Monday Action From Nitrous Ferraris To Impound Thrash

SCTA Bonneville Speed Week 2018: More Monday Action From Nitrous Ferraris To Impound Thrash

(Photos by the Author) – There are varying levels of intensity at Bonneville. There are the high intensity moments on the starting line when teams fire up their cars of motorcycles and prepare them to blast down the salt. There are the relaxed, low intensity moments back in the staging lanes or in the pits between runs, and then there’s the all-out awesomeness of the energy in the impound area of the pits.

Many of the photos in this gallery were taken from that spot, a place where teams who qualify for a record need to return to one hour after their run and then use an allotted four hours to do their maintenance and prepare for record runs in the morning. Every second of the time the car is in impound is interesting. The secondary inspection to make sure stuff is legal, the work to fix broken stuff or just service what needs to be handled is great to watch.

Enjoy these images from the blazing hot salt of Bonneville!
