The Power Tour thrash is real, as I can personally attest. On more than one occasion we’ve been in mad thrash mode to get a car done for Power Tour. In fact, 20 years ago I was in a made thrash to get a certain 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Wagon done for the trip. I got it done, and it turned the world on its proverbial ear. That led to everything that has come since in the car world, and is way more than I ever expected. So when I saw that Newbern was thrashing to get his 1955 Chevy four dour ready for him and Chantell to take on Power Tour, I was excited.
This thing is going to be rad, and is going to be fun I’m sure. But I seriously doubt the trip will be without some drama too, because no matter how hard you try, getting a car from shell to road trip worthy is hard. Let’s see how well Newbern does at it.
Video Description:
Welcome to Newbern’s Garage! In this episode, we’re diving back into our 1955 Chevy build — and things are getting real. We tackle some rust repair, lay down an awesome coat of Sweet Patina’s N1 Textured coating on the underside, and finally reunite the body with the chassis. The clock’s ticking… can we actually finish this car in time for Hot Rod Power Tour 2025? Stick around and find out — it’s crunch time!
