This 1977 Video Featuring Street Racing In Nova Scotia Features Fast Cars And The Stinkbug Stance

While we normally do not spend a lot of time posting street racing videos here, we figured one from 40 years ago is pretty far past the statute of limitations and frankly it shows off the hot rodding culture of 1977 perfectly. We’re talking different muscle cars all sharing one thing, a stinkbug stance! Everyone had their stuff jacked up to the max. While it is difficult to tell, we’re guessing that a mix of air shocks and shackles are being deployed here.

This video was made in 1977 as we mentioned above and it was made in Nova Scotia, Canada. We’re not sure if there was a drag strip in Nova Scotia at that point but judging by the looks of a few of the cars we think there was. You’ll see some permanent looking letters on some of these things and most of the cars look like dedicated drag machines over street cruisers.

The guys are racing on a pretty deserted and quiet looking road somewhere in the countryside. There are Mopars, there are Chevrolets, and there is one pretty gnarly looking and sounding Ford Falcon in the mix.

Do no freak out about the sound. There’s some crummy music for the first minute or less and then you get the face full of race car noise you have been craving. We don’t know squat about the cars or the people but this is a fun watch and we’re hoping at least a few of these races still own the iron you’ll see in the video…minus the stance.
