Pistons are directional in most combinations, but apparently, there has been a common practice of installing them upside down and backward in some Mopar combinations for more power. Or at least that is the theory. I had never heard of this, because I’m not much of a Mopar guy, but it seems that this is more common than one might think. So who better to test this theory out than Richard Holdener? Well how about Richard Holdener, David Freiburger, and Steve Dulcich? Since Freiburger and Dulcich are self proclaimed Mopar fans, they should know all about this, right?
Watch this live stream replay to hear all about testing that the three of them did for Engine Masters in order to see just how much difference flipping pistons makes, and what the theory is behind it. Plus watch and listen to questions from other viewers who were watching it live. This is some interesting tech and also kind of mind-boggling.
Let’s see what the boys have to say about it.
nothing new to me. i race a 350 buick with 283 pistons. and they are not installed per arrows. and we still turn 7500.
