Texas Motor Speedway Becomes 2nd Largest COVID-19 Vaccine Site In The Country. Every Single Racing And Sports Venue Should Be Doing This!

Texas Motor Speedway Becomes 2nd Largest COVID-19 Vaccine Site In The Country. Every Single Racing And Sports Venue Should Be Doing This!

(Photo by Vernon Bryant, Dallas Morning News) For the past few weeks I’ve been saying that the problem with administering COVID vaccines, besides getting enough vaccine itself, is that they are giving them out at locations that are not equipped to deal with tons of people. The locations that should be giving out COVID vaccines should be large venues that can get tens of thousands of cars in and out in a day. You know, like a race track or football stadium. For smaller vaccination locations, they should be using parking lots with easy in and out access, like all the ones in the business parks that don’t have anyone working in them right now. Well, I’m glad to report that my two home states, California and Texas are both doing just that. California opened the largest COVID vaccine hub in the country, at LA’s Dodger Stadium, where they are set to handle up to 12,000 vaccines a day. Now Texas has stepped up as well, with a giant 16 lane vaccination hub capable of handling 10,000 vaccinations a day. This is a great way to use a race track!

If you have never been to Texas Motor Speedway, it is giant. I’ve been to a lot of NASCAR tracks in the country and this one is massive by most standards, with a major freeway out front, two major state highways nearby, and too many roads leading into the facility to count. They have activities going on at the track year round, a lot of which don’t revolve around cars at all, and with the giant number of parking lots and access roads, it is easy to manage traffic to make this possible. Hell, this is less traffic than they would have coming into a NASCAR race anyway, and they have all day to get them in and out. But one other thing big facilities like this have is parking areas for folks who have just gotten the vaccine. After getting the vaccine, health care workers will have you wait for 15-30 minutes to make sure you have no allergic reactions to the vaccine, and there is plenty of parking for folks to sit in the cars and do just that.

People on site were thrilled to be getting their vaccines and were thanking workers and volunteers, 400 of whom were on hand to get cars in, get people checked in, screened, and then vaccinated. The team is so serious about making the system work smoothly that they are taking today off to discuss and make changes to the process if needed, and then get back at it on Thursday and Friday better than ever. This is what these facilities should be run like!

Thanks to the Denton County officials that are heading this operation, and thank you to Texas Motor Speedway staff, for doing such a great job working together. This makes race tracks look good! And to all the sports complexes, and race tracks in the country, please make your facilities available for vaccination hub operations!

Grownups are talking here, may I suggest Yellow Bullet? You can discuss nutjob conspiracy theories with those idiots. BangShift is supposed to be free of politics.

First, BS opened this can of worms, second, where are the politics? Just an alternative view on the vaccine as I see it.

First…great job by TMS, at getting this put together, and distributing the vaccine, so we can get the economy, kick started.

Second…the first comment, was from a conspiracy theorist, that believed a foil hat, lunatic.

No…. the first comment was from somebody who has been paying attention to much more than just what their TV tells them. Numerous people have died from taking the vaccination, others have been made terribly sick. One of the vaccines has fetal tissue as part if its makeup. These vaccinations are an mRna vaccination, not an Rna vaccination, it is the first one of its kind ever given to the population en masse. It also had an extremely fast rollout, not near the testing of other vaccinations. While I think our previous President was doing everything he could to lessen the effects if the pandemic and speed up the process of the vaccination trials, I think the process was ultimately highjacked by those who would like to manipulate the public into forced mass vaccination. Kudos to TMS fir trying to be of help but I will not be taking it nor would I encourage it. When the virus has a 99% survival rate and you recently has a congressional representative take both doses and come down with covid a week later that tells me it is not necessary, hard pass. Call me a conspiracy theorist, I don’t care. Time will eventually bear out the truth.

        I don’t watch the news.

I do research…and my research, shows very different.

But, like you said, time will tell. I’m personally, not a fan, of our previous president (nor the current one)…but I’ll give him credit, for getting it done,

Media keeps saying “vaccine” when they should be saying “experimental vaccine”. There is no legal recourse to experimental anything. You die from the shot, too bad, so sad. Everyone keep on following the pied piper Fauci. I’ll pass on the shot.
