There have been some neat and rare parts crossing the eBay waves as of late, but nothing comes close to this. A seller has put up for auction a 427ci side-oiler Ford motor equipped with insanely rare Mickey Thompson hemi heads from 1964. The seller claims that about ten pairs were made. We’re really curious to see how much moolah it will take to score these parts.
We’ll readily admit that we knew nothing of Thompson making Ford hemi heads. We did know that he made hemi Pontiac heads, but these Ford pieces, being as rare as they are, flew way under our radar.
The seller claims that the motor has never been run. It was built for a boat which changed hands a couple of times, but was never raced. The photos seem to back up his claims as the parts are spotless and show no real visible wear and tear.
