Christmas List Item #1: The 100 Horsepower Power Wheels Jeep In Action!

When I first started messing around with dirt bikes and ATVs at the age of ten, my goal wasn’t to emulate Travis Pastrana or Ricky Carmichael. I wanted to emulate every possible scene from the Dukes of Hazzard that had imprinted into my brain: the engine screaming, the dust trail flowing behind me, the speed a reality. Up to that point in time, I hadn’t operated anything that would make my dreams a reality. Well…not for any amount of time, anyways. We won’t count the Cobra II incident as a success. But starting with my first crack at a Honda FourTrax 250 quad, I quickly became addicted to fire road racing. It’s not a motorsport or anything like that…it’s simply blasting around on gravel roads in the woods that have just about zero traffic to run into, where cracking into the throttle is only a matter of what you are daring to do.

We’ve been following the build of the Power Wheels Jeep that Grind Hard Plumbing Co. Power Wheels Jeep since they first got the body and started tearing down the toy into something great. This is the ATV of our twelve-year-old fantasies, the roided-out go-kart that sounded like a beast and could be driven as hard as you dared. The work that has been put into this little beast is nothing short of ridiculous and frankly, the only way we’d get our own would be to copy the build, weld for weld, point for point, because I’m pretty sure that if we were to try to pry it out of their hands, we might be beat with some spare steel stock laying around the shop.
