The modern day monster truck is a true marvel of engineering. They leap and fly like no other vehicles of their size and weight on Earth. Their engines and chassis technology allow them to launch like dragsters and soak up those huge jumps like desert trucks. That’s all well and good, but our hearts lie with vintage monster trucks. This video shows a get together for vintage monsters at a big four wheel drive event and it totally rules. 

For starters the trucks are actually crushing the cars! Watching and obsessing over the trucks as kids we remember one of the visual hooks was seeing side glass bust out, roofs cave in, and those big 66″ tall tires claw for traction on hoods and trunk lids!

By far the coolest part of this deal is the guys taking their trucks into the lake and floating them around. Nothing struck our pre-10 year old minds as better than seeing a monster truck acting like a boat back in the day. The Predator truck with eight 66″ tires on it looks beyond awesome and the other trucks attacking the water look great as well.

The mud bog action is great and the rest of the old school monsters (including a coupe of tank based trucks) really brought back memories. The world NEEDS a nostalgia monster truck circuit, we’d be first in line for tickets!
