Killer Video: Bigfoot 1 Gets Thrashed in Take This Job and Shove It

It seems bizarre to say out loud, but the 1981 move Take This Job and Shove It was a significant event in the history of monster trucks. It was in the truck race scene of that film that Bigfoot One was introduced to the world and the fuse on the monster truck powder keg was lit. It really is fun viewing!

If you aren’t a monster truck history nerd like we are, fine, but you’ll still get a kick out of this video. We think it rules because it clearly illustrates the reason why Bigfoot shot to national and international stardom after the movie came out. All the other trucks in that race scene were “big” trucks for the day and Bob Chandler’s Bigfoot literally makes them look like mini-trucks. There simply was not another truck in the world like that big blue Ford. Everything on the truck was custom made, even the wheels on this baby were made by Chandler.

We were a scant one year old when this film hit the theaters, but less than four years later we were sleeping on Bigfoot sheets and gawking and Bearfoot posters on our bedroom wall. Bigfoot One will forever stand as one of the neatest trucks to hit the road. This video confirms that!
