Dyno Video: PAR Racing Engines Builds a Brodix Based Small Block – Makes more than 1100 Horsepower

While we’re throwing the whole “small block” term around here on the blog today, we wanted to show you a real romper stomper of a motor built by the dudes at PAR Racing Engines. Deemed a small block, this mill is based off of an aluminum Brodix block and cylinder heads. The displacement measures out to 522ci and the bore spacing of the block is pretty substantial if we’re talking small blocks at 4.5″ center to center.

What cannot be denied is that this is one mean naturally aspirated engine. With two big carbs feeding it on top of a beautiful sheetmetal intake, the motor made 1122hp and early 900 lb/ft of torque on the pump at PAR. The revs of where peak horsepower was made are not published (that we can find) but as you’ll hear on the video below, it has to be close to five digit terrirory!

This may not be the baddest engine in the world, but making more than 2hp per cube without any help from a power adder is certainly BangShift approved! The dyno pull begins right around :50.

Thanks to Jim for the tip!
